Book: The Lost SymbolAuthor: Dan BrownMy Rating: ★★★★

Dan Brown’s most popular character, Robert Langdon goes on to another deadly race full of codes, secrets and twisted truths in his latest novel, The Lost Symbol. Set in Washington DC, Robert was invited to deliver a lecture on the US Capitol Building. However, his visit takes on a bizarre turn when  a disturbing object, encoded with symbols, appears right before his eyes…

What can I say? Dan Brown never fails to surprise me. His books are so intricately and wonderfully written. Once again, this thriller novel made me jump and hunger for more while reading. I love the way he inputs information while keeping you entertained. Though, I must say that there were a few things Mr. Brown has written which I contradict. But all in all, it talks almost about faith. I like how his writing skill were inspired by another one of my favorite authors, Mr. Sidney Sheldon. I mean, their novels would really make you think.
His novels are real eye-openers. They teach a lot of things and explain codes and all those stuff in a light and understandable way. As a person who has passion for history, codes, secrets and mysteries, Dan Brown’s novels really are my companions. Though, there those cliches upon his three Robert Langdon series (troubled yet gorgeous scientists is one), his books has this twists and turns that l really love. Anyway, if you’re on for an adventure, go on and read this haunting yet exciting novel. I’m sure you’ll love it too.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Book Review

I borrowed this book from Chen, a good friend of mine :)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The story was about a boy who goes by the alias “Charlie”. Sinusulat nya ang iba’t ibang bahagi ng kanyang buhay at ipinapada ito sa isang kaibigan na hindi nya naman talaga kilala ng personal. This story covers a lot of grounds especially the awkward stage of adolescence. From peers, to family,to love, sex, drugs,  abuse, school, studies, bullies, to sports, literature ,etc.

Charlie’s ability to describe the events was impeccable. That’s the advantage of being a wallflower. Ang kaso wala siyang boses para masabi yung side niya face to face dun sa mga taong nais nyang kausapin. He is their little “Devil’s Adovate”. That’s why he decided to write to this “friend” na kilala daw sa school at alam niyang hindi siya huhusgahan. What struck me most was that marunong syang mag-self defense! haha xD . Ang saya nung mga fight scenes nya. But it was for a good cause. First one is to help himself and the second and the last time was to help his friend Patrick.

Marami sa atin ang ganyan. Pero it’s our choice kung tatahimik lang tayo or we are going to stand up and speak. Kailangan din nating magalabas ng mga saloobin at intindihin ang ating mga sarili kung hindi ay sasabog tauong talaga. . “You cannot please everyone” ika nga. But you can surely please yourself :))

and this is my favorite line :))

my first book review. hahahay :)) <3

To God be the glory :))
